The owners of SOS Print + Media, a 24 hour print warehouse, knew their lighting bill was costing the earth! They replaced 484 fluorescent lights with LED Tube Lights and subtracted 50-60 amps from the transformer.
This resulted in savings of 149 Tonnes of COČ emissions per year and over $25,184 each year on electricity. On top of that, there are savings on maintenance costs and a return on investment in less then 2 years!
Savings at Lowes
Lowes at the Shellharbour Square Shopping Centre were keen to reduce their impact on the environment. After they met with Leading Light (one of Spectrum Lightings distributors) Lowes replaced 96 flourescent tubes at the store with the new LED Tube Lights.
The store is now very well lit with a substantially less impact on the environment saving on 10.5 Tonnes of COČ emissions. They also save $1,779 each year in electricity cost plus the traditional lighting maintenance cost for many years to come.
The Avanti building saves with LED lighting
The Strata Committee of the Avanti building at 90 George Street, Hornsby, NSW developed a plan for energy saving; the first step of this plan was the reduction of electricity usage in the common areas.
LEDs have been installed in the common areas, the project is currently 90% complete and a drop in electricity demand has already been seen.
With 1,100 LEDs now installed, the result is a saving of 312.5 Tonnes of COČ emissions per year.
They will also save an estimated $57,931 each year in electricity costs, plus the additional savings in relation to lighting maintenance for years to come.
The Strata Committee have been impressed with the product quality and the savings they offer.
